About Encyclopedia Brown : Encylopedia is a nick name. His real name is Leo Brown. His nick name came because he read so much books. Encyclopedia was a boy detective. His house garage was his office. On the garage door there was a sign.

On one day Encyclopedia was going to the Easter party. Suddenly, Jane rush to him.
"The Easter eggs are stolen."
She gave him a quarter.
"I want you to find them."
Encyclopedia said
"Tell me what happened."
"I had painted all the eggs, so I put eggs on the window shade. I saw Bug Meany. I went in my room to change my clothes. When I went back, Bug Meany was gone, and so were the eggs!"
"Bug Meany!"
Gasped Encyclopedia.
"I might have known!"
Encyclopedia knew Bug Meany. He had handle Bug many times.
"Let's go and see him."
When Bug saw them, he said,
"Scram, or your face will need cover."
Encyclopedia was use to Bug's welcomes. So he just went in.
"You stole the Easter eggs", accused Jane.
"I didn't" said Bug.
"Oh, yeah" said Jane.
"Then where did those eggs come from?"
"I bought them from the supermarket and painted them. When you guys came, I was drying them."
"You are lying!"
"Search, then you will know."
Encyclopedia searched. Then he put the eggs away. Then he said,
"That was a pretty good story, Bug's but not good enough."
How did Encyclopedia know?
Bugs said he was drying the eggs. But when Encyclopedia remove the eggs from the table, the table was clean. If Bug was right, the table should be have paint marks. When Encyclopedia pointed this out, Bug gave the eggs back.

꼬실이 요즘에는 Encylopedia Brown에 필이 꽂혔습니다. ㅎㅎ, 언제까지 갈지는 모르고....
이 아이의 독서 취향은 감을 잡기가 어렵네요. 요즘도 흘려듣기 말고는 꾸준히 하는 것은 없고, 독서는 저 읽고 싶은 대로, 어느 날은 영어책은 한 권도 안보고 지나가기도 하고. 꾸준히 관심을 가지지 않는 것은 어미가 눈물을 머금고 거금을 들여 데려오는 픽쳐북들. 영어를 마음에 스며들게 읽지 못하니 스토리만 따라가면 되는 챕터북들이 오히려 쉽게 느껴지는 것 같은 느낌이 드네요.
2학년이 되니까 5교시를 하는 날도 이틀이나 되고, 주 5회 가는 피아노에 일주일에 방과후 수업이 두번인데 모두 2시간씩 클레이(소원이라니 안 시킬 수도 없고)와 플룻(1학년 때 소원이라고 해서 시켰는데, 사실 지금은 좀 지루해 하지만, 플룻 값이 아까워서 계속 시키고 있음)을 하고 오면 거의 5시가 다 되고....
숙제도 많아지고, 책 읽을 시간이 자꾸 줄어들어 안타까운데 별 해결책이 떠오르지 않는다는 슬픈 현실. ㅠㅠ
Encylopedia Brown은 스토리가 짧게 짧게 끊어지고, 뒤에 사건해결의 단서가 정리되어 있어 리딩레벨은 A to Z보다 높게 잡혀있었던 것 같은데(아닌가?) 무튼 A to Z보다는 더 쉽다고 하더군요.
오늘은 무슨 바람이 불었는지 Easter에 대한 이야기를 쓰겠다고 하더군요. Encylopedia Brown의 스토리 방식을 그대로 따와서 나름 추리소설을 쓰셨습니다. 문장은 딱히 어미가 손 본 것은 없고(ㅋㅋ, 손 봐줄 능력이 되어야 말이지요), ㅋㅋ, 문장에도 문제가 많겠지만, 어미가 모르니 그거는 그냥 통과. 에라뒤야.
철자는 좀 고쳐주었습니다. 역시 쓰기를 전혀 안하다 보니까 철자에 구멍이 많이 보이네요.(그거는 좀 보이네요. 심지어는 enough를 in off라고 쓰는 센슈를 발휘하시는데 안 보일수가 있나요? 나는 또 내가 모르는 뭔 이디엄인줄 알았네요. ㅎㅎ) 딕테이션을 하던지 애를 좀 잡아서 철자를 익힐 필요가 있나 고민이 됩니다.
어무이, 한글 받아쓰기도 종종 틀려오시는데, 영어를 딕테이션을 해야 하나요? 그냥 고민거리로 잡아 놓고..
그래도 나름 스토리를 만들어 놓은 것을 보니 대견하네요. 보여주지도 않겠다는 것을 컴으로 예쁘게 쳐서 그림도 넣어주겠다고 꼬셔서 보고, 꼬실이 잠든 틈에 몰래 올립니다. ㅋㅋ
