다시금 게시판이 북적거려 좋네요.^^ 

학기중엔 바빠서 미루고...  방학엔 노느라 미루고...ㅠ  하는 것만으로도 다행인 요즘입니다.--;

중2 정유석

The Giver #2를 올리다 보니까 #1미션도 안 했더라고요.

그래서 당장 컴퓨터 붙들고 했습니다.

앞으로는 컴퓨터로 타이밍 치면서 미션하려고요.

Why did Jonas think the release of new children is always sad? (chpt. 01)

There were only two occasions of release which were not punishment. Release of the elderly, which was a time of celebration for a life well and fully lived; and release of a new child, which was a release of a new child who hadn’t had a chance to enjoy life within the community yet. This was especially troubling for the Nurturers, like Jonas’s father, who felt they had failed somehow. But it happened very rarely.

 What did Jonas do at the House of the Old? (chpt. 04)

He bathed the old woman named Larissa to do his volunteer hours, which is required for Jonas to do. While he was bathing her, he talked with her. They talked about the release of Roberto, who was an old man Jonas had bathed last time, and Edna, who was a Birthmother. Then they talked about the release of the elderly. Jonas said he would like to watch that ceremony too, and Larissa guessed that there were no enough rooms for children.

How did Jonas react when Asher told him about a guy who wanted to be an engineer? (chpt. 06)

The story says, there was a guy who was absolutely certain he was going to be assigned Engineer. And instead the committee gave him Sanitation Laborer. He went out the next day, jumped into the river, swam across, and joined the next community he came to. Nobody saw him again. Jonas laughed and said his father heard that story when he was a Twelve.

 Why was Jonas’s term of ceremony skipped? (chpt. 07)

Because Jonas has not been assigned. He has been selected. He has been selected to be the next Receiver of Memory. The Chief Elder said that he has shown all of the qualities that a Receiver must have. Jonas has Intelligence, Integrity, Courage, Wisdom, and the Capacity to See Beyond.

 What were the rules Jonas had to follow as a receiver? (chpt. 09)

1. Go immediately at the end of school hours each day for the Annex entrance behind the House of the Old and present yourself to the attendant.

2. Go immediately to your dwelling at the conclusion of Training Hours each day.

3. From this moment you are exempted from rules governing rudeness. You may ask any question of any citizen and you will receive answers.

4. Do not discuss your training with any other member of the community, including parents and Elders.

5. From this moment you are prohibited from dream-telling.

6. Except for illness or injury unrelated to your training, do not apply for any medication.

7. You are not permitted to apply for release.

8. You may lie.

방학이라 책을 조금 더 여유롭게 읽을 수 있어서 좋네요.

저도 번역본 빌려다 읽고 있는데 책이 참 재미있네요.

우리가 사는 세상이란 또다른 사회 계획대로 착착 진행되는게 좋을 것같기도하고

무미건조할 것같기도 하고...

밥먹다가 반쯤읽은 얘기를 줄리 동생에게 들려주었더니 그 뒤가 궁금하다고 언니에게 해달라고 조르네요.

그래서 또 뒷얘기를 줄리가 받아서 해주고 ... 책을 함께 읽는 즐거움이 느껴져서 참 좋았답니다.^^

아...저도 정말 오랜만입니다~~~^__^

Sarah가 학기 초반부터 사춘기의 방황이 시작되더니 결국 몇 달을 가더군요...

이제 조금씩 정리가 되어서 여름 방학땐 그동안 못한 것들(공부들...ㅋㅋ) 다 시키고 싶은데

그건 엄마맴이고 일단 쑥의 북클럽부터 열심히 하기로 했어요~~^^
