1. 불도 사람도 무서워하지 않는 skunk한마리리가 shelter로 들어왔어요. 쫓으려고 모래를 뿌렸다가 독가스에 Brian은 한쪽눈을 2시간 넘게 뜰수 없게 되고 거북알을 모두 빼앗기지요.

2. bird. 호수에서 먹이를 낚아채고 다시 돌아서 언덕위 나무로 돌아옵니다.

3. 새잡이에 몰두해 있다가 moose에게 공격을 받아 죽을 고비를 넘기고 그날 tornado가 닥쳐서 shelter도 망가지고 그동안 하나씩 만들어온 모든것을 잃고(hatchet만 허리에 차고) 말아요.

6. 너무나 반갑고 귀하게 느껴지는 물건들이었지만 그동안 자신이 숲에서 혼자 어렵게 어렵게 만들어간 모든것이 너무나 손쉽게 이루어지는 것임을 보여주는 물건들이 꼭 반갑지 만은 않았을수도....

emergency transmitter의 스위치를 켰다가 별 소리가 안들려서 그냥 처박아 두었는데.. 그 신호를 모피장사꾼이 듣고 비행기를 몰아 구해주러 옴. 

1. Brian had made a good shelter and food shelf. Make some kind of pond, his fish-trash pile of bones and skin and guts was in the pond area and the prospect of food brought them back. He made a gate by weaving small willows together into a fine mesh and closed them in.

2. The bird  cut down toward the lake, then, seeing it couldn't land in the water, turned and flew back up the hill into the trees.

5. The hatchet cut through the aluminum as if it were soft cheese. He dropped the hatchet. He had a narrow clutch it. He went back to the hole in the fuselage and began to chop and cut again, peeling the aluminum skin off in p***es until he had opened a hole large enough to pull his head and shoulders in.

6. It was a strange feeling, holding the survival pack. It somehow removed him from everything around him. Without the survival pack he had to fit in, to be part of it all, to understand it and use it, all of it. With the pack, he didn't have to know. The pack was wonderful but it gave him up and down feelings.

Brian unwittingly turned on the emergency transmitter and the pilot heard his emergency transmitter and rescued him.

Brian saw the skunk was digging where he had buried the turtle eggs. He had thrown sand at the skunk looked almost cute, but skunk sprayed out at brian's head, the effect was devastating to make blind for almost two hours to be pain lasted for days

After that mistake,Brian thought shelter have to protect food to makehim safe.

Before the foolbird flew, the head feather came up and it made a sound like cricket, when the bird relaxed the feather went down. Brian moved toward it  at an angle when the bird relaxed and caught on  with his bare hand.  (근데 요거 16장 내용이네요)

first disaster - A big moose attacked him for no reason. So he was hurt bad in his ribs.

Second disaster - that was a tornado attaced everyting in the shelter,lake and forest. then there are nothing..

He cut and peel the aluminum covering off with the hatchet  to make a hole enough to get in.

The rifle and butane lighter changed him not need to study and understanding surroundings .

It makes easy to get fire and food . but because there were nothing he had to study nature, thought deeply and grew a real man.

Also  he turned on the emergency transmitter that he thought it was ruined in the crash and left it going.

But that worked normally then a fur buyer could heard and save him..

1. 불과 연기에도 아랑곳 하지 않고 알을 가져가려하는 스컹크에게 모래를 한줌 뿌리자,
스컹크가 꼬리를 들어 브라이언 면전에 악취나는 액체를 분사했네요.
이 때문에 브라이언은 2시간 가량 눈이 보이지 않는 불상사가 발생합니다.
또 보금자리가 악취로 진동을 했구요.

스컹크의 방귀냄새가 끔찍하다는 사실은 알았지만, 그런 놀라운 위력이 있는지는 처음 알았어요.
정말 귀엽게 볼 동물은 아니네요.

2. 이것의 이름을 브라이언은 foolbird라 이름 지었는데요,
이 새는 호수를 향해 가로질러 나르다가 물에 착륙할 수 없어
다시 돌아서 언덕에 있는 나무로 돌아가는 습성이 있는데요,
그런데 돌아서 커브로 나무를 통과할 때 햇빛에 잡혀서 이 새의 형체가 보였지요.
앞은 뾰족하고 머리아래는 뚱뚱한 몸을 가진 총알같은 모양이요.

비로서 브라이언은 이 새를 잡기 위해서는 새의 색과 깃털을 쫓을 것이 아니라
새의 형태를 찾도록 눈을 훈련시켜야 한다는 사실을 알게 됩니다.

저도 비슷한 경험을 했어요.
아들이랑 매미를 잡는데 처음 한 시간동안은 매미 한마리도 보이지 않더라구요.
귀떨어지게 매미소리가 들리는데도 말이죠.
그런데 이 책 내용이 생각나데요... Looking wrong
나무에 앉아있다고 나무만 쳐다보았는데, 나무 라인에 톡 튀어나와 있는것에 집중하니까
그 다음부턴 이 나무 저 나무에 매미가 다 들어오더라구요.
눈을 어떻게 훈련하느냐에 따라 정말 보이는게 틀려지네요.

3. 돌진해오는 moose에게 들이받혀 갈비뼈를 다치고,
토네이도 때문에 모든 것을 다 다시 시작해야했지요.

4. 땟목과 노를 만듭니다.
땟목을 타고 비행기쪽에 다가가 묶어놓고 working base로 만들 참이었지요.

5. 비행기 기체를 도끼로 내리치며 잘라내어 기체 금속을 조각 조각 떼내면서
구멍을 만들고 그 구멍을 통해 비행기 내부로 들어갑니다.

6. survival pack 안의 물건들은 너무나 훌륭했지만 브라이언에게는 들쑥 날쑥한 묘한 감정이 들었어요.
사실상 좋아할 수 만은 없는 감정이요.
살아남기 위해 자연에 순응하고, 자연을 이해하고 이용하려 그리 노력해 왔는데,
그런 노력이 한순간에 필요없는 행동이 되어버렸다 생각을 떨칠 수 없었죠.

하지만 거기에 들어있던 Emergency Transmitter 덕분에
브라이언은 54일간의 힘겨운 생존투쟁을 마치고 지나가던 경비행기 조종사에 의해 구출됩니다.

야호~ 이로써 또 한권 마치네요 ^^

미션문제를 읽어보니 다시 읽어야 미션 수행이 가능하겠네요.

너무 대충 읽었나봐요.. ^^;

저는 일신상의 이유로 8일간의 방학기간동안 애들 둘을 친정엄마와 애아빠에게 맡기고

휴가를 가졌더니 이번 방학 정말 빨리 지나갔네요.

다시 일상으로 돌아왔어요. 열심히 다시 읽고 미션 수행하겠습니다~
