1.     막대기와 납작한 돌맹이를 이용해서 새 거처 입구에 관목들을 쌓아올리고 교묘히 심어서 아무도 볼수 없도록 했고,  나뭇잎을 쌓아서 덮었어요.   

2.      “넌 우리왕국에 불명예적 존재야!”  “You are a disgrace to this kingdom!”

3.     거푸집이라고 해야하나, 발자국이 찍히지 않도록 골풀을 엮어서 발바닦에 묶었어요.

4.     Joy at having been vindicated and at being with Derek결백을 입증하고 디렉과 함께하는 기쁨

Anger at what had happened 그간 일어난 일에 대한 노여움

Misery that such things could happen 그런 일이 일어났었던 비참함

Pity for Derek 디렉에 대한 동정심

Bitterness toward his faithless friends and toward the King he had loved 신실한 친구들과 사랑했던 왕을 향한 비통함

Longing for a good life 훌륭한 생활에 대한 갈망

Sweetness at thinking how beautiful it could be 이 일이 어찌될지 생각할때 드는 감미로움

Sorrow that it wasn’t so 그렇지 않았던것에 대한 비애

5.      “Can you ever forgive me?”

“I forgive you gladly, dear mouse.”

6.      “They must never know who did it.  Let them always wonder and never know the answer.” 비밀

7.      새로운 오페라하우스를 세우는거, 그가 가장 좋아하는 형태인 알 모양

8.      There was peace and harmony in the kingdom once again, except for the little troubles that come up every so often even in the best of circumstances, since nothing is perfect.

심지어 최고의 환경에서 조차 종종 소소한 문제들이 일어나는걸 제외하고는, 왕국엔 다시 평화와 조화가 깃들었다.  완벽한 것은 없으니.

다들 바쁘신가봐요

   아무리 극한 상황에서라도 말은 늘 조심해야 하거늘..

3. 발에 멍석같은 거 만들어서 달고 다녔지요..

4. 그리운 친구를 만난 반가움과 서러움.

    친구들에 대한 분노 밑바닥에 깔려있는 그리움~

5. Can you ever forgive me?

    Gawain은 이미 맘고생했을 Derek을 용서했지요~

6. Derek이 스스로를 자책하며 이미 벌을 충분한 받았다고 생각한 Gawain은

   사건을 묻기로 하지요~

7. 오페라하우스 건축.

   Gawain이 가장좋아하는 알모양~

8. 근사하게 옮겨 질라나 모르겠네요--;;;;

   완벽한 것은 없기에 소소한 골칫거리는 있었다. 하지만 왕국에는 다시 평화가 찾아왔다.

이번책은 참 얇아서 휴대하기 편했어요.

또 한권의 책이 끝났군요^^

이번 책 표지에도 날짜와 한줄느낌을 썼어요.

"용서하는 것은 쉽지 않은 일이라는..""

1. Gawain dug up some bushes and planted them in front of the entrance to his new home so that it would be impossible to see. He covered the newly dug earth with dead leaves. No one could notice it was the cave for Gawain and think it was just a crack in the rocks.

2. You are a disgrace to this kingdom!

3. Gawain tied rushes to his webbed feet.

4. Gawain felt many feelings at the same time; joy at having been vindicated and at staying with Derek, anger at what he had experienced, misery that such things could happen, pity for Derek, bitterness toward his faithless friends and toward the King he had loved, longing for a good life, sweetness at thinking how beautiful it could be, and sorrow that it wasn't so.

5. Can you ever forgive me?

I forgive you gladly.

6. Gawain told the people must never know who did it and they would always wonder and never know the answer because they deserved at least that for their lack of faith.

7. His first project was to make a new opera house which would be an egg-shape, his favorite form.

8. 다시 한 번 왕국에는 평화와 화합이 깃들었습니다. 물론 가장 완벽한 상황에서도 자주 작은 문제들이 일어나지요. 완벽한 것은 없으니까요.

엄마 책 읽기에 관심갖고 지켜보는 아이 왈, 왜 아이 책을 읽냐고 반문하네요.^^

이번 책은 표지가 그림책 같은 표지라 아이가 여러 번 어린이 책 읽는다고 평하는군요.

치과 의사 드소토 선생의 저자라며 알려줬더니, 어쩐지~ 그림이 똑같더라..

누명을 쓰고도 숨어있는 시간동안 마음을 잘 추스려 힘든 시기를 잘 견뎌내고 뚫고나온, 그리고 Derek을 이해하고 용서를 보여준 주인공 Gawain에게 박수를 보내며 책을 덮습니다.

그림보며 그냥 앞뒤 흐름대로 이해한다는게 맞지 않나 싶어요. 

저도 스테이그님 책이 넘 어렵더라구요.

8. 왕국은 다시 평화롭고 조화로웠다. 최상의 환경에서도 흔히 있는 작은 문제들을 제외하고.. 어떤것도 완벽하지않듯이..

저도 어렴풋이 이해하지만 구절구절 마음에 담기란 어렵더군요.

시간이 지나 읽은 책이 쌓이면 해결될거란 이슬사랑님의 조언을 믿을려구요^^ ㅎㅎㅎ
