There is a Shakespeare festival in Oregon in th US. They want to change his work into plain English. As you know the words in his plays are really difficult to understand. To be honest, I didn't read his books. ^^;;
Here are two opinions about the translation of his works. I think the translation could be needed. If the words in a book are very difficult, most people don't want to read it. It can't be valuable without being read.
I know there is something more behind his works or plays. For example, Korean 'Jeong(Á¤)' doesn't have an English word having same meaning. We know it's not easy to translate a work from one language into another while remaining the meaning as an author intended.
However, I think that reading in plain English is better than no-reading. I mean, though it's not quite the same, reaching for his book and reading it is much worthy than being away from it.
