구름은 왜 생길까요? 솔직히 우리말로도 어려운 부분이긴 하지요.^^;;
구름이 만들어지는 원리를 간단한 실험을 통해 알아보았습니다.

준비물 : 솜, 물, 플라스틱 투명컵

* 활용대화 - 설명이 좀 부족할 수 있는데요, 최대한 이해하기 편한 내용으로 적어 보았습니다.)

Mom : This is a cotton but pretend that it is holding a cloud.(이것은 솜이지만 구름이라고 생각하자.)
How does the cloud feel?(구름이 어떻게 느껴지니?)
Hard or soft?(딱딱하니, 부드럽니?)

Kid : It is very soft.(부드러워요)

Mom : Then, is it heavy or light?(그럼 무겁니, 가볍니?)

Kid : It is very light.(가벼워요.)

Mom : Now, place the "cloud" over the cold water.(이제, 구름을 물에 놓아보자.)

kid : Ok.

Mom : Water that has evaporated has traveled up to the cloud
and it is a lot colder up in the sky, so the vapor turns into water, it is filling upclouds. (증발된 물은 하늘에 있는 구름과 돌아 다니면서 더 차게 되는데, 구름에 가득차면 되면 물로 바뀌는 거야.)
Can you see the "cloud" (cotton ball) filling up
with the water?(물로 구름이 가득찬 걸 볼 수 있니?)

Kid ; Yes, I can see.

Mom : Pick up the "cloud" from the pan.(구름을 잡아 봐.)

Kid : Ok.

Mom : How does the "cloud" feel now? Light or heavy?(지금 구름의 느낌은 어떻니? 가볍니? 무겁니?)

Kid : It's heavy.(무거워요.)

Mom : Warm or cold? (따뜻하니? 차갑니?)

Kid : It's cold.(차가워요.)

Mom : What is happening with the water?(물에 무슨 일이 일어나고 있을까?
Yes, the water is dripping from the "cloud". ( 바로 물이 구름에서 떨어지고 있어)

Kid : Why?(왜죠?)

Mom : The cloud cannot hold all that water is too heavy. (구름은 엄청 무거운 물을 모두 가질 수는 없어.

What do we call when water falls from the clouds because they are too heavy with water? (무거운 물때문에 물이 구름에서 떨어지는데 우리는 그걸 뭐라고 부를까?)

Kid : Rain.(비요)

Mom : Yes, you are right, rain! (맞아. 비야.)
It is raining!(솜에 물을 짜내면서)
And what happens to the water? (자, 이제 물에는 무슨 일이 일어나니?)

Kid : It is coming back into the pan.(물이 다시 컵으로 돌아갔어요.)

Mom : Yes, it is coming right back into the cup, and the cup could be a stream, river, ocean or the ground. (그래, 물은 컵으로 다시 돌아가서 시내, 강, 바다가 되는 거야.)
