둘째가 탈장 수술을 받은 날이 마침 보름 전날이었어요. 그래서 친정에 있고 한 김에 친정 엄마께 배워서 약식을 만들어 보았습니다. 집에서 했으면 모양틀로 아기자기하게 해볼 수 있었을텐데 조금 아쉽네요. 대보름과 둘째 수술 축하 기념으로 약식 케잌을 만들어 촛불을 불고 축하해 주었습니다.

Do you know 약식?
It's made of sweet rice, chestnuts, dates and pine nuts.
We can make a cake with it.
I soaked 4 cups of sweet rice in water and put them in this pot already.
Put 3 cups of water in the pot and add one cup of sugar.
We should add soy sauce, sesame oil, salt and cinnamon powder.
Stir it well with a spoon until sugar melts.
Let's put chestnuts, dates and pine nuts in this pot.
Can you mix them well?
Let's put this pot on the stove and cook.
Wow, it's finished. let's open it.
It's very hot. you should not touch it. I'll mix it.
Let's put it in the bowl and make it circle like cake and turn it over.
Tada, our cake is served!
Put the candle in the cake and celebrate.(초는 약식이 좀 식은다음에 넣어줘야 합니다. 안그러면 초가 다 녹더라구요.)

이번 기회에 잘 배웠으니 집에 복귀하면 아이들과 함께 또 만들어 볼 수 있을 것 같아요.
그때는 여러가지 모양의 틀로도 한번 도전해 볼랍니다.
