Q1. The thing that is the most distressing to loose is usually something that you never quite noticed. Something that you didn't put a lot of meaning in. For example, a quiet friend who was always there to listen to you. Or perhaps, the delight of comprehending colors.Tell me the charactor of your best friend and who he/she most resembles among the people in this book. Then tell me if that friend really is the person you need most.

Q2. Lise is bored, she wants excitement. Explain how the boredom would have affected her mind.

1. My best friend's personality is a mix of the three Karamazov brothers. She is adventurous, enthusiastic, and passionate about what she does, just like Mitya. Like Ivan, she is a great student and firmly believes that there is always a reason for something. She says this to me frequently whenever I am complaining about something horrible. Also, she resembles Alyosha by being kind and having a talent of listening to others. My best friend really is the person I need the most because I can always confide freely in her. She is always willing to listen to what I have to say, and vice versa. She can make me laugh even after telling a depressing story by telling a simple joke. She's so willing to help me in every way she can so that I feel better just by trying to figure out a solution together. Additionally, she understands me better than any other person since we are of the same age. She is one of the most important people who have shaped who I am today.

2. I know boredom because I've experienced it many times. I don't mind doing a particular activity for a long time, even studying, but if I don't have something to do, my personality wholly changes. I am usually a practical person, but my mind starts thinking thoughts that do not make any sense at all, nor have any sort of importance whatsoever. I start becoming cranky and spit out offending words to others, even though I can control my temper most of the time. I end up in a foul mood and my conscience keeps bugging me about how much I could do instead of just doing nothing. This is why on the way to and from school every morning, I carry my flashcards in my pocket, and I memorize the vocabulary words for my English academy. On the subway, I carry a book around with me, or if I don't have one, I read all the signs at the subway station. Since I have a great passion for reading, I mostly occupy my brain with it. I know this makes me seem like a nerd, but it's better than being bored, I can assure you. I assume Lise will probably become like me if excitement doesn't enter her boring life, or at least something to occupy her spare hours.

1. I think my friend resembles Alyosha. She is concerned about everyone, and has a kind heart and is easy to love. But she is my friend, not my family. I've only known her for a year, but my family was there for me for all my life. So I think my family is the ones that I need the most.

2. The wanting of excitement must be natural to her. She wants to have excitement all the time. If she doesn't have excitement, I think she will get nervous, frustrated, and irrational.

1. Well, my best friend has a really unique personality. She chats and speaks out aloud very often, even during classes, so sometimes she is disturbing to me. But, on the other hand, she is so nice to me that I don't know what to do. For example, she keeps buying me stuff expensive, and it's hard for me to receive such things. I think that my best friend is sometimes annoying, but usually, she makes me laugh and she has a kind heart so the character that my best friend resembles the most in Karamazov brothers is Alyosha. I really like my friend, and I really need her. Because, without my best friend, I feel lonely. I am so used to talk and chat with her, even though I don't like chating very much, so I need her. Still, I think that the person I need the most is noneother than my family. Friends can understnad each other, but, families are more important to me. I can't live by myself without my family. So, I love my friends but families are more important.

2. I hate being bored. When I am studying for a long time, then, it makes me really bored. Not doing what they want make people tired and want to do something different. If I get bored, than I find something else to do, such as, reading books, playing games, throwing balls with my little brother. If a person doesn't find something that will attract him or her minds, than she or he will get angry or gets frustrated. So, Lise has to find something that attracts her mind, or else, she'll get mad.
