1. Fyodor Pavlovich is not a normal person. He has experienced a variety of things in his life. Many stages of his life were filled with happiness, sorrow, bitterness, and other feelings mixed up together. He also has a drinking problem, and he tends to get off course when he is drunk. I think his past sins and fears plague him sometimes, and he struggles to get his conscience back under control. This is what causes his spiritual terrors and moral torments.
2. As mentioned many times throughout the story, Alyosha has a special power. He can make anyone trust him and bring out their innermost thoughts, their feelings, their fears. Everyone who knows him love Alyosha and take him seriously. Mitya and Fyodor Pavlovich as well are not an exception.
3. I agree that pride is kin to foolishness. Of course, pride itself is not bad. If you can get it under control, pride will make you confident in your actions and give you reassurance. However, if you cannot control your pride, and if it swells to an enormous amount, that is what brings foolishness. If a person's fatal flaw is hubris, then they believe that they can do anything, even actions that are unrealistic and almost impossible to fulfill. They commit rash actions without thinking carefully first. They tend to think of themselves as more superior than other around them and treat others in a harsh manner. These traits eventually lead to foolishness.

1. I think it is because he feels guilty from his doings. He can't be all bad. There must be a good part inside him somewhere. And he is suffering because he realized a magnitude of his bad deeds.

2. At the first part of the story, the author mentions Alyosha's powers. He says Alyosha made anyone who met him love him sincerely. Fyodor Pavlovich loved Alyosha. And judging by he and Mitya's similarities, I think its love and the feeling that this person didn't abandoned me.

3. Pride is a feeling that you feel when you did something awesome. A little pride does you no harm. Everybody feels pride from time to time. But too much pride can lead to overconfidence. And overconfidence does you much harm. It leads to recklessness, foolishness, and many other things that can be your downfall. In my opinion, pride IS a kin to foolishness.

1.When somebody does evil things and he knows it, his conscience will pay him back. I think that is what is happening to Fydor Pavlovich.

2. Well, Alyosha is an angel. If he promises to keep a secret, he will. And when Mitya will tell something to Ivan, Ivan is not an 'angel' type of person, and I think Ivan will critisize Mitya, which Mitya will not be very comfortable when he talk. But Alyosha is the angelic type who will probably listen, agree, and then say his opinions.

3. Everybody needs pride. If a person has no pride, he will not be confident at anything. But too much pride is an even bigger problem. He'll think he is better than anyone, like Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice, which will make others angry.
