"I SPY "시리즈는 90년 초, 출간 이래 10년간 1500만부 이상 팔린 베스트셀러입니다. 제가 소개하려는 "I SPY LITTLE BOOK"은 각종 동물과 사물의 숨은 그림을 찾으면서 영어공부를 하는 책입니다. 우리집 아이는 18개월 즈음에 이 책에 대한 흥미가 극대화 되더군요.. 생생하게 살아있는 실제 사물의 사진과 선명한 그림은 아이들의 호기심과 상상력을 유발시키고도 남는답니다. 사물을 주의깊게 관찰하고, 숨은그림 찾기 놀이를 통해 아이들에게 집중력과 관찰력을 길러 주려는게 저자의 의도입니다. 두꺼운 보드북으로 되어있어 튼튼하고, 책 크기가 작아서 휴대하고 다니면서 재미있게 놀이도 하고 영어공부도 겸할수 있는 장점이 있습니다. 연령이 낮은 아이를 대상으로 한 보드북 시리즈 이외에 좀 더 연령이 높은 아이를 대상으로 한 하드커버 시리즈가 출판되어 있으니 다양한 연령대의 아이들이 이 책을 즐길수가 있을 것 같군요..
