My first abc board book Designer:Helen Melville Editor : Rachel Wardley 1998년 D.K사에서 My Little ABC Board Book 으로 처음 출판된 이책은 My first word books 시리즈 중 가장 일상적이면서 종합적이라고 평가 할 수 있는 책입니다. 자연과 인간,환경과 인간,문화와 인간이라는 상호 보완적인 소재들로 아이들에게 주변환경에 대해 친밀감과 호기심을 유발하게 하는 책입니다. 동물,장난감,탈것,먹거리 .악기 등등 일상에서 쉽게 접할 수 있는 것들로부터 아이들에겐 아주 흥미진진한 것 까지 ,부모와 아이가 자연스럽게 영어를 이끌어 낼 수 있는 소재꺼리를 충분히 담고 있습니다. 책은 보드북으로 되어 있으며 아이들이 넘기기에 크기도 알맞고 견고하여 아주 실용적입니다.삽화는 실물을 사진으로 옮겨놓아 아주 사실적이며 색상이 화려하고 선명하여 아이들의 시선을 끌기에 충분합니다. 아이들의 첫 알파벳그림책으로 다양한 볼거리와 알파벳 아니라 아이와 많은 이야기를 나눌 있는 책입니다.즉”네가 좋아하는 것들이 여기 다모였네”라고 시작해보세요.
