유아용 첫발견 Shapes (My first discoveries)

영어가 아니라 우리말을 배울 때도 가장 기본적으로 해야 할 것들이 있는데 그 중 하나가 바로 모양에 대한 인지입니다. 이 책은 보드북으로 유아들이 보기에 적당하고, 책 내용은 왼편에 평면도형이 있으면 오른쪽엔 관련된 입체도형의 그림과 플랩을 들추면 더 많은 관련도형을 볼 수 있어요. 플랩은 총 5개 랍니다.

[활용예문]

Look at this folding blanket. 여기 접어진 담요를 봐봐.

There are one, two, three, four equal sides. 하나, 둘, 셋, 넷의 같은 크기의 모가 있네.

Its shape is square. 이 모양은 정사각형이란다.

We can make a box with six squares. 우린 정사각형 여섯 개로 박스를 만들 수 있어.

Its form is cube. 이 입체 도형은 정육면체라고 해.

Open this flap of present box. 선물박스의 플랩을 열어보렴.

Wow! All these forms are cubes. 우와! 모든 모양이 정육면체구나

A jack in the box, a lump of ice, dice, block, cubic, stacking tower, audio player and alarm clock are cube.

It's a clock. 이건 시계야.

It's round. 둥글어요.

우리 손가락으로 원을 만들어볼까?

They are all round. Aren't they?

Now, look at this flag. 이제 이 깃발을 보렴.

Flag's shape is triangle. 깃발의 모양이 삼각형이야.

Three sides and three angles are there. 세 면과 세 각이 있지.

This form is a corn. 이 모양은 원뿔형이네.

Now, let's open this flap. 플랩을 열어보자.

Can you find out which things are triangles? 삼각형이 어떤 건지 찾아볼래?

Look at this blue door. 이 파란 문을 보자.

Its shape is rectangle. 문의 모양은 직사각형이야.

Are there any other rectangles? 다른 직사각형이 있니?

Open this lego block pictured flap. 레고블럭 그림의 플랩을 들쳐보자.

Chocolate, soap, a book, an eraser, a picture frame, chips, a calculator, an envelope. a box of toy, and some windows of toy house are there.

Now let's make funny face of man with these shapes. 이제 이 도형들로 재미난 사람 얼굴을 만들어보자.

스케치북에 도형을 그리면서 아이랑 도형놀이를 해도 좋을 것 같네요.

Today, we'll learn about the shapes? 오늘 우린 도형에 관해 배울 거에요.

A shape is the pattern you make when you draw round something.

Mummy draws round ball. Its shape is circle.

Mummy draws four equal straight lines like this. This shape is square.

A square is a shape with four corners and four equal sides.

Look at what mummy draws.

It has two long sides, two shorter sides, and four corners.

It's called a rectangle.

[활동 2]

아이랑 밀가루 반죽을 가지고 모양 틀로 찍으면서 모양놀이를 하면 좋을 것 같아요. 그럼 평면도형은 물론이고 입체도형도 만들어 볼 수 있을 거에요.

[활동 3]

아님 시중에 파는 자석판을 구해서 모양별로 오려서 냉장고에 붙여서 여러가지 모양을 만들어 보는 것도 좋을 듯 싶네요.

[각 도형 설명 예문]

Circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles are all shapes.

It's circle.(a continuous curved line, the points of which are always the same distance away from a fixed central point, or the area enclosed by such a line)

It's square.(a flat shape with four sides of equal length and four angles of 90° )
It's rectangle.(a flat shape with four 90 degree angles and four sides, with opposite sides of equal length)

It's oval.((shaped like) a circle that is flattened either at one place or at two opposite places, so that it is like either an egg or an ellipse )

It's star.(a symbol with four or more points)

It's triangle.(a flat shape with three straight sides)

모양은 크게 평면도형과 입체도형이 있지요. 예를 들어 정사각형(square)인 평면도형이 6개 모이면 정육각형(cube)이 되지요. 이 각기 다른 이름을 알아보기로 해요.
