그림이 제 책 안쪽에 있는 그림이네요. 약간 표지가 다르긴 하지만, 그냥 참고하시라구요. 제 책은 제임스가 눈사람을 만드는 그림이 표지랍니다.

Wow, look at this!

Rigths. It's s snowman. 재윤, have you ever made a snowman?
(Yes)
Really? Whom did you make the snowman with?
(Mommy)
Right. We made a big, fat snowman in a snowy day.
We made his nose with the branch of tree.
O.K. Let's turn the page.

첫페이지는 눈이 오는 그림이예요. 그걸 보면서 이야기해요.
Look! How is the weather?
(It's snowing)
Yes, snow is falling.
Try to touch this. Oh, it's very cold. (정말 차가운 것처럼 과장된 몸짓, 아시죠?)

자, 이제 본격적인 책 읽기에 들어가 볼까요?
파란색은 한칸한칸 나와있는 그림을 가르키면서 아이와 쓸수 있는 활용문이예요.
실감나는 목소리로 아이에게 이야기해주세요.

In the morning James woke to see snow falling.
Wow, snow is falling. I'll make a snowman.
Mom, may I go out to make a snowman?
Yes, you may.(제임스와 엄마의 목소리를 잘 구별해서 읽어주세요)
He ran into the garden as fast as he could,.......(중략)
Look, 재윤. He's rolling the snow and making a big, fat snowman.

He gave him a scarf and a hat, ............(중략)
Wow, he's finished. He made a snowman.
This snowman has three buttons.
Do you have buttons on your clothes now? Let's see. Oh, your underwear doesn't have buttons.
See, this snowman is very tall. He is taller than James.
재윤, who is taller, you or mommy?
(Mommy)
Yes, I'm taller than you, and Daddy is taller than me.

What a wonderful snowman he was!
It's time for bed. It's 8:20.
Can you read this time?(제임스 침대 옆에 시계를 가르키며)
It's 9 o'clock.
James could not go to sleep because he was thinking of his snowman.
Look, it's 11 o'clock already.
But, James doesn't sleep yet.

In the middle of the night he crept down to see the snowman again.
He went downstairs. And he came out.
And suddenly...the snowman moved!
Hello, James.
Oh, my goodness. I can't believe that. Hello, snowman.

"Come in," said James. "But you must be very quiet."
Hush!
Don't worry, I'll be quiet.
This is my room.
Wow, great!

The snowman was amazed by everything he saw.
What's this?
Try to touch this. It's a light.
Cool!
Oh, I'm surprised! What's this?
It's my toothpaste.
Wow, it's fun.
Oh, no! Don't do that. It's a kitchen towel. I'm in a trouble.

They even went into Jame's mother and father's bedroom.
Hush, they're sleeping.

And the snowman dressed up in their clothes.
How does it look on me?
Wow, great! You looks like father.
Let's go out.

Suddenly, the snowman took James by ....(중략)
Where are we going to?

and up, up into the air.
They were flying!

Wow, I'm flying, I'm flying. Look, I can see the whole city from here. That's cool!

James and the snowman flew for miles through the cold, moonlight air.
Are you cold, James?
Yes, I'm so cold.
O.K. Let's go down.

Then they landed gently on the snow, home safe in the garden.
Let's go home.

James gave the snowman a hug and said good night.
I had a great time with you, thank you.
You're welcome, it was my pleasure.
Good night.
Good night.

In the morning he was.....(중략)

He must see the snowman again!....(중략)
I want to see him again.

across the living room, past his mother and father,
Good morning, daddy and mommy.
Good morning, James. What happened? Where are you going to?

and into the garden.
But, the snowman melted.
Look, there are only a hat, a scarf and some buttons left.
Oh, no. He's gone. Good bye, snowman.
This is the end of the story.

스티로폴 중에서 동그란 스티로폴(좀 큰것)이 있더군요.
이쑤시개를 이용해서 두 개를 붙여서 아이와 눈사람을 만들어 보세요.
색종이로 모자도 만들고, 펜으로 입도 그려보고...
아이가 정말 좋아한답니다.
