손가락 명칭 외기도 좋고 아이들이 쉽게 따라부를 수 있는 노래같애요.
울 딸은 Thumbkin, Mommy, Brother, Sister, Baby라고 불렀는데 보통은 Thumbkin, Pointer, Tall man, Ring man, Pinkie라고 많이 부릅니다.

대표적인 Fingerplay Song입니다. 이 노래는 유명한 만큼 여러가지 액티 등에 많이 사용됩니다.
다음의 두가지를 소개해 볼께요.
[[ Hide and seek with "Where Is Thumbkin?" ]] (Grade Level - Pre-K and Kindergarten )
1. 학급에서 5명의 아이들을 뽑아 각자에게 thumbkin, pointer, ring man, old man and pinkie의 역할을 하도록 합니다.
2. 그리고 그 다섯명의 아이들은 어딘가에 숨어있습니다.
3. 나머지 아이들이 "Where is thumbkin, where is thumbkin?"을 부르면
"thumbkin"인 학생은 "Here I am! Here I am!".
나머지 학생들은 "How are you today, Sir?".
"thumbkin"인 학생이 대답합니다. "Very well I thank you!".
학급 전체 학생들이 "Run away! Run Away!"(이때 Thumbkin인 학생은 아까 숨었던 장소로 다시 숨습니다.).
그리고 학급전체 학생들은 이 과정을 숨어있는 모든 학생들을 위해 되풀이하지요.
4. 그리고나서는 학급전체 학생들이 "Where is everybody? Where is everybody?"
5명의 숨어있는 학생들이 일어나 노래합니다. "Here we are! Here we are!".
학급학생들 "How are you today sir?"
5명 학생은 "Very well I thank you!"노래를 합니다.
학급 학생들이 "Come back home! Come back home!" 노래합니다.(이 때 5명의 학생들으니 다시 학급으로 합류합니다.)
5. 이 액티는 학급 학생들을 다섯그룹으로 나누어 할 수 도 있습니다. 또는 품앗이에서 아이 한명당 한 손가락 역할을 주어 응용하 ㄹ수도 있ㅅ브니다.

가사를 바꾸어 부르면서 본격적인 학교관련 어휘(desk, chair, blackboard, pencil, crayon, eraser, textbook, notebook, wall, window, door, floor, etc. )와 전치사를 익힐 수 있습니다.
