Until today, I didn¡¯t know what ¡®pedestrianisation¡¯ was. When I first saw the word, I thought it was only related to pedestrians, and didn¡¯t think about it much longer.

But after I finished reading the tran, I realized pedestrianiation is changing a street into somewhere that can only be used by pedestrians.

And I began to think of places that were pedestrianized- A common feature of them was this : they were all closed for some special occasions, like the Time Square on New Year¡¯s Eve, or markets that come again in five days or so.

But I think the topic is quite different from the examples I mentioned- I think they mean permanent pedestrianization, not temporary.

Then how will life change after pedestrianiztion?

The reason was because of air pollution, noises, traffic and car accidents- And everybody is hoping pedestrianiztion will help.

I think so too, especially the noise and car accident problem. It will be useful when applied to school zones. There will be less kids getting knocked down by a car, and everybody can concentrate to class much more.

And indeed, the air will be cleaner since there are not much cars zooming around.

But I don¡¯t think it is good for everybody.

Not everybody has healthy legs to walk, or to ride a bicycle, or has enough time to walk to work.

You see, transportations such as cars and buses has become an essential part of our lives, and we cannot live without it.

I think it will take a long time to be fully satisfied without cars.

But someday, I hope pedestrianiztion will be common around the globe.
