I learnt how to swim when I was 11. Since then and from now on, I have never heard about 'wetiquette'. And after I read today's topic, I felt 'wetiquette' is very essential to improve public swimming pools clean and pleasant.
And when I was learning how to swim, there was an invisible wall between beginners and advanced swimmers. Beginners swim in the left side, the middles swim from the center, the advanced swimmers swim from the right side. Nobody complained about it, and it became one of the rules that everybody should follow. And it kept the swimming pool quite pleasant!
Come to think of it now, I think that was the reason why I never got frustrated by slow swimmers in public swimming pools.
And I think haircaps are important too. Regardless of men and women, there are tons of hair floating in swimming pools! This is not a manner, right? Also makeup and accessories are not welcomed, unless they are waterproof and not too dangling.
Somehow, common senses in public spaces apply in many other places.
I hope people in Korea will know exactly about wettiquette and practice it.
Let's make a pleasant swimming pool!
