When I read the topic, I found it rather familiar- Because I have always been told that I shouldn't waste food. Why, I asked, and they would answer : "Think of the poor children of Africa who is starving!" . But I don't think that's the right answer. Not everybody's measure of pain is the same- That's why.
Moving on, the scientifically correct answer is : food waste which is buried in landfills release greenhouse gases which contains carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane(CH4), and few water vapors. When greenhouse gases are expelled, the ozone layer can be harmed and lead to global warming.
But how could we reduce food waste? Frankly, it's hard not to release food waste at all- So I thought of a method- Firstly, declare a non- food waste day and be sure to clean up all of the food on your plate, especially for that day. Remember- this doesn't mean you can throw away most of your food on other days. Always try your best to clean your dish up.
Secondly, you should always place your food a little less than your appetite. With less food, there's not much chance to leave food in your plate. It's better safe than sorry.
As I have said, always try your best to clean your dish up.
Well, I showed you two examples in how to reduce food waste, much familiar to our everyday life. I hope you got a glimpse of knowledge by my essay. Thanks for reading!
