이번주 discussion주제는 the different lunch choices people make 입니다.
이번주 스크립트 제목을 보면서 여러가지 생각이 들었습니다.

lunch 대신에 face, favoriate fruits, choice of color 등등 과 같은 말이 들어가면서 사람들이 선택하는 어떤것이 그 사람을 말해준다는.... 성격분석 같은 글을 많이 보았던 기억이 납니다.
이번주 Quiz는 How long is the average lunch break in the UK? 였죠.
보통 점심시간은 1시간이 주어지지만 직장인들은 현실적으로는 근무 여건 상 1시간을 다 사용하지 못하는 것 같습니다.
영국 직장인들은 평균 28분이라고 하네요.
미국 근로자들도 48%가 점심시간에 식사를 하는데 사용한다고 조사되었습니다. 밥 먹는 대신 그림과 같은 다른것들로 점심시간을 이용한다고 하네요. 그중 29%가 점심시간에도 계속 일을 한다고 응답했네요 ㅜㅜ.
직장인 1000명을 대상으로 조사한 "점심시간의 의미"의 결과입니다.

적절한 음식을 선택할 수 있는 상황이 아닐때 임시방편으로 생겨난 음식이지만
What lunch says about us is that we’re still very much stuck in this kind of quite functional, you know, efficient, utilitarian attitude of how we should construct our daily lives; and that for all our embrace of this great food culture and everything, we haven’t managed to make that an everyday thing it remains something for the special occasions.
바쁜 현대인들은 점심시간에도 일상의 여러 스케줄을 관리해야해서 매우 기능적으로, 효율적, 실용적인 태도를 보이기됩니다. 그런점이 또한 샌드위치를 점심메뉴로 선택하는 이유가 될 수도 있을 듯 합니다.
우리나라의 경우를 볼까요?
직장내에서 식당을 운영하는 경우는 학교 급식처럼 식사를 하는데 그렇지 않은 경우는 거의 외식을 하게 되지요. 그래서 직장인들의 또하나의 고민은 점심식사메뉴 고르기~
영국인들도 샌드위치를 주로 먹지만 샌드위치도 그 종류가 많고 다양해서 메뉴를 골라야 하겠지요?
점심 시간에 바깥에 나가서 식사를 할 수 없는 직장인들도 많다고 합니다. 아래 사진들 처럼 일하는 책상에서 햄버거, 샌드위치, 도시락으로 점심을 먹는 경우도 많네요.
학교에서 급식을 먹는 여러분들은 오늘 주제가 잘 와닿지 않을 수도 있겠어요.

주제에서 좀 벗어난 자료이지만 하루를 시작하는 아침, 하루일과의 한 가운데인 점심시간에, 하루를 마무리 하는 저녁시간에 20분 정도의 시간에 자신을 재충전 할 수 있는 방법들이 있어서 소개합니다.
이번주 Vocabulary 입니다.
