Washington, D.C.에서 태어난 Eileen Christelow는 책을 즐기는 분위기의 집에서 자라서 책 읽기를 좋아하고, 어린 아이들을 위한 그림책 작가가 되는 것이 꿈이었다고 합니다. Pennsylvania대학을 졸업하고 사진 작가로 활동을 한 Eileen Christelow는 자신의 딸 Heather과 함께 일주일에 한 두번은 꼭 도서관을 찾았으며, 낮잠 잘 시간이나 저녁 잠자리에 들기 전에는 꼭 아이를 위해서 책을 읽어주었다고 합니다. 딸 아이가 유치원에서 배워 온 라임을 들으면서 이것을 그림책으로 써야겠다는 생각을 한 Eileen Christelow는 나중에 이 라임을 'Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed'로 만들었다고 합니다. 부드러운 색연필 터치와 익살스러운 꼬마 원숭이들의 표정은 이 작품의 백미이며 이렇게 시작된 'Five Little Monkeys'의 시리즈 ('Five Little Monkeys sitting in a tree', 'Don't Wake Up Mama!', 'Five Little Monkeys with Nothing to do' 등)는 많은 사람들의 사랑을 받고 있습니다.

1929년 미국 뉴욕주의 시러큐스에서 태어났습니다. 6살때 독일로 이주해 슈투트가르트 조형미술대학을 졸업했고 그후 미국으로 건너가 '뉴욕타임즈'에서 그래픽 디자이너로 일하다가 <배고픈 애벌레>등의 어린이 책을 만들었습니다. '로라 잉걸스 와일더 상','볼로냐 아동 도서전 그래픽 상' 등을 수상했으며 지은 책으로는 <1, 2, 3 동물원으로>, <빨간 여우야 안녕>, <아빠 해마 이야기> 등이 있습니다. 현재 서부 매사추세츠에 있는 자신의 집 근처의 스튜디오에서 작업을 하고 있습니다.

증조할아버지부터 할아버지, 아버지에 이르는 예술가 집안의 피를 이어받아 어릴 적부터 다방면에 걸쳐 예술적인
재능을 보였습니다. 이미 1학년 때에 아버지의 뒤를 이어 예술가가 되기로 마음먹었으며 4학년이 되어서는 구체적으로 어린이들을 위한 책을 만드는 작가가 되기로 결심하였다고 합니다.
또한 그녀의 동물에 대한 사랑이 무척이나 헌신적이었던 만큼 오드리의 책에는 많은 동물들이 캐릭터로 등장하고
있으며 미술, 음악, 연극, 문학 심지어 춤에 이르기까지 많은 분야의 주제들을 다루고 있습니다.
그림책을 만드는 것을 단순히 일이라고 생각하기 보다는 자신의 삶에 경이로움과 재미를 부여해 주는 보람 있는 작업
과정이라고 여기며 그녀 대부분 책의 그림을 담당한 동료이자 남편인 돈(Don)과 함께 열정적으로 활동하고 있으며
최근에는 아들 Bruce Wood와도 작품활동을 하고 있습니다.

런던에서 태어나 브리스틀 대학을 졸업한 후 TV 어린이 프로그램에 쓰이는 동요를 만드는 일을 해 왔습니다. 1993년 노래를 바탕으로 <집이 너무 좋아요>라는 제목의 책으로 만들어지면서 현재까지 40여 편이 넘는 책과 연극 대본을 발표했습니다. 지은 책으로는 스마티 상을 포함해 영국의 권위있는 상을 세 개 받은 베스트 셀러, <괴물 그루팔로> 등이 있습니다. 현재 영국 글래스고에서 가족과 함께 살고 있답니다.

1945년 6월 미국 펜실베니아주의 피츠버그에서 태어났으며 젊은 시절, 예수회 신부가 되려고 그와 관련된 공부를 하다가 어린이 이야기에 흥미를 느껴, 어린이를 위한 글을 쓰고 있습니다. 이후, 아내와 함께 캐나다로 건너가 캐나다 국적을 취득하였습니다. 1994년 뉴욕 타임지에서 동화부분 베스트작가로 뽑혔으며 지은 책으로 <이상한 크레파스>, <꽁지머리 소동> 등이 있습니다.

건령이가 토요일에 졸업을 해서 지금 집에서 같이 뒹굴뒹굴하고 있어요....ㅋㅋㅋ

울 아빠가 젤 먼저... 생일축하 인사해주시더라구요...
아이키우는 모습이 대견하고 자랑스럽다는 말에... 눈물이 찔끔~~~~ㅋㅋ
사실은 울 부모님이 더 축하받아야할 날인데...
아직까지도 항상 받기만하는 딸이라 죄송하기만 하네요....^ㅡ^
