Horrible Science #2 Blood, Bones and Body Bits

1. Why does the right eyeball vanish when you focus your right eye on the left eyeball and slowly move the book away from your face? (See p. 36 to p.41)

There’s a gap in the light-sensitive cells. There is a blind spot and when you look at things with it they seem to disappear. This spot is where the optic nerve connects with the inside of the eyeball.

2. Describe the story of how pain killers are developed. (See p. 61 to p. 64)

A dentist had a toothache so he needed to take his tooth out. So the dentist used laughing gas to make him feel no pain.

3. Why do we need vitamins for our body? What happens if there are not enough vitamins? (See p. 83 to p. 90)

We can easily catch a cold if we don’t have enough vitamins. And also you can catch other

diseases if you don’t have enough vitamins.

4. You can feel the blood pulsing in places such as the side if your wrist just under your thumb. What causes these pulses? (See p. 120 to p. 123)

  The arteries bulging out as a surge of blood from the heart passes by.

5. What are the sure signs of ageing to look out for in old men? 

Losing hair

Hairy ears

Hairy nostrils

Dry and wrinkly skin

Shuffling walk

Lazy pupils

Deafness

Grey hair

Jutting chin

Blotchy skin

Trembling hands

Put on weight

많이 늦었네욤. 다음 미션책도 읽어야하는데 개학하고나니 시간이 너무 없답니다.

예상은 했지만.........좀 있음 봄방학이니 조금만 힘내라고해야겠어요^^

Because there was a gap between the light sensitive cells.

And there is a blind spot, so when you look at things with blind spot, It seems there is nobody

The spot is where the optic nerve connects with the inside of the eyeball

2. Describe the story of how pain killers are developed. (See p. 61 to p. 64)

Long time ago, surgeons performed operations without any painkillers.

They would cut off your leg or whip out vital portions of your anatomy and all you got was a gag to stop you screaming too loudly; and one day the dentist had a toothache so he used laughing gas to kill the pain.

3. Why do we need vitamins for our body? What happens if there are not enough vitamins? (See p. 83 to p. 90)

If we don’t have enough vitamins, We’ll become horribly unhealthy. And we can catch cold, and other etc disease too.

4. You can feel the blood pulsing in places such as the side if your wrist just under your thumb. What causes these pulses? (See p. 120 to p. 123)

Because the arteries bluging out as a surge of blood from the heart pass by causes these pulses.

5. What are the sure signs of ageing to look out for in old men?

His hair will become whiter and whiter, he will have hairy ears and his hair will be losing. He will be smaller and smaller.

소피아도 어제 중학교 예비소집일이었고 이번주 금욜에 반편성고사 본다고 하네요.

며칠 안남은 초등학교 시절을 잘 마무리하고 설레임과 희망 가득한 멋진 중학교 생활을

시작하기를 소망해봅니다.

드디어 어제 중학배정 받았어요. 교복도 사고...기분이 좀 이상하다고 하네요^^

여러모로 마음이 싱숭생숭 붕 떠있는 2월이 될것 같아요.

모두 얼마 안남은학기 잘 마무리 하길 바랍니다~

벤자민과 저는 설연휴내내 지독한 감기에 걸려 시댁도 친정도 못 가고 며칠동안 골골거렸답니다.

지금은 그래도 살만한데 아직까지 완전히 낫지는 않았어요.

친구들도 감기 조심하세요. 이번 감기는 정말 지독하답니다.

다들 명절 잘 보내고 새배돈도 많이 받았겠지요? 드디어 방학이 끝나고 개학입니다. 

예전보다 짧은 방학이라지만 여전히 개학이 기다려지는 건 엄마들맘인가요?^^

그레이스도 책표지그림에 질색을 하네요. 너무 징그럽고 무섭대요.

 When surgeons preformed operations without pain killers, they used laughing gases to kill pains.

3. Why do we need vitamins for our body? What happens if there are not enough vitamins? (See p. 83 to p. 90)

 If we don’t get any vitamins for our body, our body becomes horribly wealthy or we can be cold dead.

4. You can feel the blood pulsing in places such as the side if your wrist just under your thumb. What causes these pulses? (See p. 120 to p. 123)

 The heart is strong enough to pump our blood around our body and it control the speed of the blood by the brain or our feelings.

5. What are the sure signs of ageing to look out for in old men?

 Getting bold, hairs gets gray, their hands trembles.
