1. Aleksei Fyodorovich did not receive much love nor affection from his father, who was an uncaring and harsh man. On the other hand, his mother cared for him and loved him with all her heart, so naturally he turned to her for love and support. The affection that is mother gave him, compared to his father's, probably gave Aleksei a very strong impression, and that is why he still remembers his mother.

2. I think the starets did a good job in controlling Fyodor Pavlovich's feelings. They tried not to let him get too carried away with his own feelings, and the other way around as well. However, I wish they had acted a bit more compassionate towards him. Starets have to listen to what others say and help channel their grief and misery. If they had been more kind and compassionate to what Fyodor Pavlovich had to say, he might have said more that revealed the true problem, and the starets may have found a better way to help.

3. People make fools of themselves because sometimes they just want to gain attention in whatever way they can. They simply want people to notice them. In other cases, people get carried away. They cannot stand the pressure of their boring, unmeaningful lives any more and try to do something special that they had not done before, and make fools of themselves in the process. If not, some people have foolish minds and are really off their rocker.

1. I think it is because of his ignorant father. Fyodor Pavlovich ignored all three sons after his wives died. The elder went to the military, the second went to school and learned all he can. Aleksei found his peace in his mother. The memory of his mother hugging him and praying for him, must have been striking to Aleksei.

2. The starets listens to people's misery and help them find a way out of their misery, and blesses them in god's name. Fyodor Pavlovich's manner to the starets was rude. The starets listens to him with patience. The starets respected Fyodor Pavlovich and listened to him. I think he helpd Fyodor Pavlovich in some way.

3. People who act without reason make a fool of themselves. And people loses their reason because they can't keep calm. In conclusion, people make fools of themselves because they can't keep calm. 

1. Well, in this book, Aleksei is described loveable and a likeable person. So even though he had lost his mother at the age of four, he had a kind heart and missed his mother so much that he didn't let go of the memories of her and remembered her even when he grew up. Or maybe the people around him talked about his mother many times so that he imagined about her or because of the people talking, he may have bring his memories back from his chilhood.

2. I think that the starets was very kind to Fyodor Pavolvich, and in a way, thoughtful, because if the starets had gotten angry and yelled at him, than he will lose trust but at the same time, if they just show respect and not anger to Fyodor Pavolvich, than Fyodor Pavolvich may even don't treat him like everyone else does. So I think that the starets had to behave more harshly toward the Fyodor PAvolvich, because Fyodor was so rude.

3. Hum? If it's just asking, than I will say that people make fools of themselves because they want to give impression that they are um...different and special from others. Or I think maybe people make fools of themselves, to hide their talent but some people may be just a fool. I mean, who wants to look like a fool in front of the people? Except for a real fool.

1. Alksei Fyodorovich' father, Fyodor Pavlovich didn't care much about his sons. So Aleksei might have wanted love from his mother. For him, his mother must have been very important. Also, mothers are very important to infants. So I think that is why he still remembers his mother who died when he was four.

2. I think what the starets did was very wise. Shouting at Fyodor Pavlovich or fighting with him will not solve promblems. It will only make both of them angrier. The starets were calm, polite, and even kind to him even when Karamazov is mocking  them, telling him to be honest with himself. It (probably) solved the situation without any fights.
